I wish I could go back to childhood so that I could imagine things without getting any trouble. “Ramona and Beezus” relieves my stress and stretches my imagination beyond reality.
The story makes me laugh and sometimes cry, the acting kills its awkwardness and let’s be honest, it’s a family film. Ramona is creative who never gives up on imagining things and she would do whatever it takes to save their house. Beezus is beautiful but has less screen time than Ramona. Come to think of it, the movie should be called “Ramona”, not “Ramona and Beezus”. Their father is unemployed, yet he determines to save the house by finding a job to support them. But what about the other characters like Henry, Beatrice, their mother and Ramona’s teacher? Quite impressive, I guess.
Once again, I didn’t read the book but I find both it and the adaptation quite amazing.
