At first, I never thought Toei had the balls in releasing an extremely violent sword-slashing flick like this one, with extra nudity and sex scenes that is. Too bad Reiko Ike’s career is over after she was arrested for gambling incident.
The story adds dark flavor of revenge with a pattern: Ino-Shika-Chou formation. Our main heroine, Inoshika Chou, is after Iwamura (deer tattoo) and Kurokawa (boar tattoo) but not her mother (butterfly tattoo). Why she’s after them? It’s because they are responsible for killing his father, the detective who investigates the particular incident, before the evidence was stolen by corrupt politics. Shinnosuke has the same goal as her but in different perspective as he is the leader of Shinseikai, a group who swears to overthrow the corrupt government. Christina is innocent even though she works as a spy for the British flag.
I absolutely love this movie, no questions asked.
