Whether you will agree with me or not, the fourth Yu-Gi-Oh anime and manga series will appear next year, sometime in Spring 2011, preferably in the evening timeslot. This will be announced during the Japanese encore screening of the latest crossover movie: Yu-Gi-Oh! 3D: Bonds Beyond Time -- you know, the one with Paradox on it. Here’s the synopsis:
“Yuma Tsukumo is number one bad boy at his school. Something unexpected happens as Ryoga challenges him to a Duel. When the mysterious entity Astral appears before them a new legend begins.”
First of all, this would wake place after the events between GX and 5D’s since we don’t know when the current anime series (Yu-Gi-Oh 5D’s) will end. Meet Yuuma, the main character of this series. With his reputation, appearance and attitude, he looks like Yusei’s relative but he is more of Jaden than Yugi. I bet Ryoga is this version of Chazz/Joey/Jack.
I have some theories:
- I bet it borrows some elements from Yu-Gi-Oh season 2 aka Virtual World filler arc. In other words, the style of dueling is of virtual reality ala Digimon season 2.
- Yuuma’s deck is Warrior-Beast type while one of Ryoga’s card has a Dragon.
- Yuuma and a leading lady are odd couple … somehow.
- There may be crossover between this and 5D’s, I mean, Yusei and some of the characters would appear in a particular episode.
- I want Yugi and the gang to appear in this post-apocalyptic show.
